Cambridge CELTA - TEFL COURSES IN LEEDS

This internationally recognised course gives you the qualification you need to teach English anywhere in the world. It is also your first step towards being qualified to teach ESOL to adults in the UK.

Our intensive, four-week course will provide you with the knowledge of methodology and the practical skills you need to teach any level of student. You can also take the course part-time over 22 weeks.

Cambridge CELTA is suitable for those who have no experience, or who have experience of teaching a different subject. It may also be suitable for those who have done some TEFL or ESOL teaching but have little training.

The course includes

• input sessions on language awareness, methodology, classroom practice and phonology
• six hours of supervised teaching practice teaching real students
• observed lessons taught by highly-qualified, experienced teachers
• four practical assignments.

You will receive guidance in all aspects of teaching, including lesson planning using an up-to-date coursebook. We can also help you look for a teaching job, and at the end of the course, we will write a report detailing your achievements: you can use this when applying for work.

What people who’ve been trained at Action English say..

"You will be warned that the course is intensive and demanding - and you had better believe it! It is however extremely informative and practical. The teaching practice is invaluable and the feedback from the tutors is detailed and constructive. The school is run very professionally, but with a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere. You will make good friends on this course, both among your fellow trainees and amongst the students whom you teach. Two months on from the course I am gaining experience in the ESOL sector here in the UK, but my friends who want to travel are already on their way abroad."
Peter B.

“Overall a very enriching and stimulating four weeks. Thank you.”

“I’ve loved this course. It’s benefitted me hugely – and not just in terms of my future career.”

“ I really enjoyed this course. I came to it feeling quite nervous and I’ve come away with new friends, confidence in teaching and not actually wanting the course to end.

“Excellent tutor support. Great facilities.”

“Thank you very much for all your advice and support. You create a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere, which I’m sure the English students enjoy too. I would recommend you without any hesitation.”
